Ms. Jorge was phoned to inform her of the great news but she was not immediately available for comment during the ceremony. New Moon will make arrangements for the winning rug to be shipped to Ms. Jorge at their earliest mutual convenience.
Ms. Smith had this to say of New Moon’s longstanding support of GoodWeave: “As one of GoodWeave’s founding industry partners, New Moon has contributed to our mission to end child labor for more than 15 years. Donating the luxurious Rima rug is just one more way that they are making a difference in GoodWeave’s mission and for Nepal.”
In case you failed to win (which you did unless you’re Ms. Jorge) there is still a chance to win a fantastic GoodWeave certified rug. As part of this year’s ‘Stand with Sanju’ campaign (of which The Ruggist is an inkind sponsor) The Stephanie Odegard Collection created the rug ‘Pema Tsetan’, which you (assuming you’re not a member of the GoodWeave Staff or Board) can potentially win by heading over to the GoodWeave website to learn more about Sanju and GoodWeave’s effort to eliminate illegal child labour. Good luck!
